Arthritis and joint soreness effects many of us from time to time and recently I have received many requests to make up aromatherapy balms and blends for people and their animal companions. The colder weather also means that older people can be more sedentary which therefore creates more generalised body stiffness.
For those of you who I have mentioned the Epsom salt compress here is the recipe;
1/2 litre of warm water. Not hot
1/4 teaspoon of Epsom salts. (Magnesium sulfate).
Soak a linen or cotton cloth in the above mixture then gently apply over the area for 10-30 seconds.
Wipe away excess water from the skin surface then apply aromatherapy mixture.
This can be applied 1-2 times per day and also for those who have ‘ overdone it’ with an extra frolick out and about with doggie mates, hiking or the like.
